My work is rooted in a philosophy of deep connection to place. Rather than approaching a landscape as a fleeting visitor, I believe in taking the time to truly know it, to witness its rhythms, its changes, and its character as it unfolds through the seasons, shifting weather, and passing time. This slow and deliberate process allows me to move beyond simply photographing a location, toward building an intimate understanding of it.

Through repeated visits over months or even years, I develop a relationship with the landscape. I learn its moods, its subtleties, and the moments that reveal its essence. In doing so, the images I create become more than representations of a place; they become part of an ongoing dialogue between myself and the environment.

Living in Sheffield gives me close access to the landscapes of the Peak District, where I am able to combine my love of walking with my passion for photography. Having worked as a commercial photographer for over thirty years, I value the opportunity to step away from the demands of day-to-day assignments and immerse myself in the quiet beauty of the Derbyshire countryside. These visits provide both creative renewal and a deeper connection to the landscape, allowing me to create images that are grounded in familiarity, patience, and a genuine sense of place.
