I came across this giant whilst wandering a new area of woodland I had discovered a couple of years ago. With the prospect of fog, I made a return journey to work on a composition I had wanted to make of this wonderful tree. It stands tall and distinctive, guarding a pathway to the deeper woods. It had lost a limb from a recent storm, however, it hadn't diminished its presence one bit, only adding to its story in the landscape.

As I set up, fog from the valley gently drifted into view, my heart began to beat a little faster these amazing conditions began to paint the scene in front of me. The image is taken right on the cusp of autumn and the leaves still held on to the green colours, this created an almost mono-tone colour palette in different subtle shades, and the fog added the final additional of contrast before it finally dissipated.

This release is a limited edition print of 30 and is supplied at A3 size with a white border

It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and supplied in an archival box.
